Thanks to the unwavering commitment of three families, the Ensemble en Chemin Foundation realised its ambition in 2019 with the creation of the “La Cime – La Famille” school in Uccle.
This unique institution in the Belgian landscape offers adapted and innovative secondary education to young people with physical disabilities, combined with an integrated day centre.
The school is based on a methodology based on conductive pedagogy, which aims to empower children with disabilities by guiding them towards learning and achieving their objectives, thus promoting their social integration and cognitive development.
With nine classes welcoming a total of 50 young people, it helps to compensate for the lack of places in this type of education in Brussels. Its approach gives children the opportunity to join general secondary education during their schooling.
The Claude Beckers Foundation has supported this inclusive project from its beginnings, thus allowing its development and realisation.
