Farilu has its origins in the joint initiative of Raymonde Decorte, mother of a child with Down syndrome 21, and Mariane Mormont, a physiotherapist.
Faced with the lack of adapted leisure activities for children with mental disabilities, they founded in 1999 the association ” Jamais Eux Sans Toi”, which organises cultural and sports activities for these young people.
In 2011, noting the lack of prospects for young adults with disabilities at the end of their specialised schooling, they transformed the project into Farilu, an artisanal inclusive bakery that opens its doors in Watermael-Boitsfort. The objective is then to meet the social and professional integration needs of disabled adults, while offering a warm and rewarding environment.
Since 2022, Farilu (JEST ASBL) has been licensed as a day centre. The institution welcomes about fifteen adults with mild to moderate mental disabilities or with autistic traits.
Added a point on the support provided by the Foundation: since, when, in what form, possibly with what results?
